Our Man in Space
10th October 2007 at 9.21 pm has become a historic moment for us Malaysians as we send our first man in space. Furthermore, this historic event coincides with month of Ramadhan and our angkasawan arrival at the ISS was during malam raya. As we were takbir on earth celebrating finishing our obligations for Ramadhan, as Malaysians we were also celebrating the triumph of our angkasawan safely arrived in space.
Our angkasawan, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar is truly a lucky man as he is really fortunate to be in the same crew with Peggy Whitson and Yuri Malenchenko who are both experienced astronauts and cosmonauts themselves. Furthermore, Dr Peggy is creating another history in becoming the 1st female comander on the ISS. How lucky indeed for our angkasawan, to be involved in such history in the making.
One thing that astonishes me in a good sense is that when our angkasawan arrived on the ISS, during the press conference, one of the astronauts mentioned they have become like "brothers" on the ISS. Who would have thought that Americans and Russians could call themselves brothers all these years. That is just truly amazing and we should follow this as an example. A true historic moments as well as currently on the ISS Russians, Americans and a Malaysian Muslim live together in harmony and helping out each other. An example that all people should follow.
I feel the urge of making a proposal that maybe the leaders of different countries who just doesn't see eye to eye on things that maybe we should send them to space. Let them stay in space for 6 months, settle out any of their differences, then only come back to earth. Maybe then, and only then, that they decided to stop all the war and greediness after spending time with each other in space. What do you think?
Again, I do feel that our Dr Sheikh Muszaphar is a very lucky men, reading about all the other 5 astronauts and cosmonauts on the ISS with him right now is just amazing, an experience that just unbelievable and valuable. In the end, he is the chosen one and he deserves it.
Tomorrow, will mark the last day of our angkasawan up in space, as he will be coming home to earth. We pray that he will be back safely and thus he has become our hero. One thing for sure Dr Sheikh Muszaphar you really have inspired us as you are a living proof that ~Dreams really do come true~.

Yup, great leaders should be sent sana kan. Buat mcm Tuanku Abdul Rahman masa nak minta merdeka from the Queen. Instead of naik flight ke london, dia ajak naik kapal. So that they can discuss differences ngan all leaders of other races, etc before sampai sana. Biler sampai sana, they are all united for merdeka. And each time i ingat merdeka, and TAR sure rasa soppy and patriotic sket. hehehe
