Advertisements

Don't know about you guys but I like watching advertisements. GOOD advertisements I mean. Adverts with messages. There is a couple of advertisements that I like usually Petronas' advertisements created by Yasmin Ahmad.

• One of the advert was for Hari Raya (this is my sister's favourite). The advert is about a daughter who had a quarrel with her mother and she left her kampung. When she was small her mother carried her across the sawah to tend her wounds. At the end, when Hari Raya arrives she came back and thought her mother passed away ( sbb muka makcik n pakcik plakon2 xtra tu real giler sedihnya). The end was touching. This is one of my favourite advert as well. ( My sis suka part bunyi petir/guruh masa mak tu angkat tangan gaduh ngan anak dia tuh)
• MAS advert. This was a couple years back for Merdeka Day. It was a story about 3 boys. A malay, chinese and an indian who grew up together and got separated while growing up sbb perang. At the end they met up with each other after years and years of separation. ( Like the scene when they played rugby with the English boys perbezaan ketara kiter kecik depa besar hehe cute jek)
• I cant remember this advert was from whom/what company. I just remember that this advert was about during the war. A chinese family came to a malay house for shelter and the family helped out. If i'm not mistaken for Merdeka as well. Touching advert.

I was watching the TV this morning and there was a segment on educating people about dadah. How to help rehabilitate them. I suddenly remembered an advert about dadah as I was growing up. It was 20 years or so ago. The advert was about a girl who has a brother. It showed that the girl was very close to her brother. Suddenly, the brother changed, she entered her brother's room the brother isn't there anymore and they aren't the way they used to be. Last sekali tunjuk jauhi diri anda daripada dadah. Best iklan nie.. suka sampai skrg.

I feel that our government should start showing this kind of advert. Make people think. Unlike the 'TAK NAK' advert showing ppl with bad teeth takde effect. Make something that makes people think. Cam iklan dadah yg I mentioned tuh, dah 20 years pun ingat lagik cause ada message and mmg sedih iklan tuh. There is so many messages that we can pass to people through advertisements. We need to open up people's minds. Just my two cents.

p/s: siapa ingat iklan camne nak check tong gas bocor tuh? Yg tong gas tuh bercakap2 and lompat sana sini. Siap ada bunyi 'adoi!' biler pompuan tuh letak kuali atas dia hehe
